Since the success of our pilot course, Dr Rebekah Olive & Dr Beth Daley are teaming up again to offer more opportunities to develop your self compassion through free-writing. See below for the details of each course. You can attend one-off sessions or book blocks. We are running them on Tuesday evenings & Saturday afternoons in Ilkley at Olive Branch Therapy.
Tuesday sessions – 18:30-20:30 on 10, 24 Sep, 8, 22 Oct @ Olive Branch Therapy, Ilkley.
£30 per session or £100 for all four
10 September. Compassion and you. We’ll discover the elements of compassion, and explore how they apply to ourselves, to others, and to characters we like or dislike in fiction and film. We’ll do this through discussion and free-writing from given prompts.
24 September. Noticing ourselves and the world. We’ll focus on observing ourselves and our surroundings, exploring what we carry around with us, and where we find ourselves on the stage of our lives. We’ll do this through poetry, discussion and play.
8 October. Developing compassion for others. We’ll explore using compassion to better understand those around us, and what it would be like to embody compassion as it is presented in people or fictional characters we admire. We’ll do this through meditation, poetry and free-writing.
22 October. The masks we wear. We’ll look at the different presentations of ourselves that we portray – the masks that we wear for different people and situations. What do we gain or lose by using these masks? We’ll do this through visual prompts, poetry, meditation and letter-writing.
Saturday sessions – 14:00-18:00 on 7 & 21 September @ Olive Branch Therapy, Ilkley.
£60 per session or £100 for both, including refreshments
